How we can help

At Solace & Thrive, we are dedicated to enhancing the mental health of children, adults and their families.

Our Approach

Solace & Thrive is a boutique clinical practice, proud to offer specialist perinatal, infant and child mental health care. Our highly experienced mental health clinicians have a shared philosophy that  trust, compassion and safe relationships are the foundations of psychological healing and individual growth. We believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and the importance of creating a trusting and non-judgemental environment.

We offer a confidential and safe space for self-exploration, growth and healing. At Solace & Thrive, we recognise that each person’s journey is unique and our aim is to tailor our approach to meet your specific needs and goals.

Our experienced therapists employ a variety of evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as Cognitive-Behavioural therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) and Interpersonal therapy. Through collaborative discussions and personalised interventions, we work together to help you gain insight into your thoughts, emotions and behaviours and develop effective coping strategies.

Perinatal

The perinatal period, lasting from pregnancy to the first 12 months after giving birth, can be a period of significant adjustment for the mother, child and other family members. At Solace & Thrive, our dedicated team of skilled psychologists are here to provide compassionate support and guidance as you navigate the perinatal period.

We understand the adjustment experienced during this life stage and offer expert help with related issues such as depression, anxiety, loss, grief, trauma and relational difficulties.

We are committed to strengthening relationships and facilitating joyful and confident parenting during the perinatal period.

We also offer support for partners and family members, recognizing that the perinatal period can be a time of significant adjustment for everyone involved. We provide education and resources to help partners and family members better understand perinatal mental health and develop effective strategies for supporting their loved one.

Infant and Child Therapy

Our psychologists specialise in understanding behaviours and emotions from the child’s perspective and we are passionate about providing early intervention to help children thrive. Infant and early childhood mental health (0-5 years) is a period where brain development is its most extraordinary and relationships are central to optimal well-being.

Solace & Thrive clinicians support the social-emotional development of infants and young children by attending to their capacity to express and experience emotions, learn and engage with the world around them, in the context of the relationships significant to them. Our team are trained in child development, neurobiology of trauma and attachment-based interventions and able to treat developing mental health issues including attachment disruptions, regulatory difficulties, anxiety, depression or developmental concerns. We have a range of specialised assessment tools and evidence-based interventions to help your child overcome any difficulties and reach their potential.

We believe that early intervention and collaboration are key and that's why we work closely with parents/caregivers to identify potential challenges early on and develop a treatment plan that meets the unique needs of each child and family. With a strengths-based perspective, we provide a collaborative and consultative service that actively includes families, educators and other health professionals to achieve the best outcomes for children.

Psychological Assessments

At Solace & Thrive we offer a broad range of evidence-based, specialised assessments and provide expert care and support in this process. Assessments can be daunting, so we work hard to offer a welcoming space that will make you and/or your child feel comfortable as the therapeutic journey begins.

An assessment involves gathering and collating detailed information to explore a diagnosis and to develop a treatment plan delivered by our highly experienced staff. Because each person is different, individual assessments can vary.

Assessments are compiled in a detailed psychological report that includes relevant background information, medical history, a summary of observations and practical recommendations. To find out more, please contact us.
